Germany offers Russia assistance in creating an infrastructure for transporting hydrogen to the EU countries.
Germany also believes that one of the routes for its delivery to Europe may be Nord Stream 2, said the head of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety Carsten Zach.
Zach drew attention to the fact that in Europe more and more consumers are interested in hydrogen. In this issue, he sees great prospects for cooperation between Germany and Russia.
“We have already mentioned Nord Stream 2, and Russia is the largest energy supplier. And since demand will shift towards hydrogen, it is in the interests of Russia and Germany, as well as the European Union, to create an appropriate infrastructure and support scheme for this energy sector”, — Zach added.
In his opinion, Russia has great potential for hydrogen production, and Germany is ready to help in its creation.
